With the launch of the newest addition to the iPhone family, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, it is interesting to take a look back at the evolution of the most popular smartphone.  Back in 2007 when Apple first introduced the iPhone it was magical and revolutionary with a multitouch screen and 2 megapixel camera.  A year later when the iPhone 3G was released, the App Store was born with only 500 apps available to download.  Over the years the App Store grew, the camera improved and each new generation of smartphone was faster and smarter.

The new iPhone 6 is 25% faster than the iPhone 5S with an A8 processing chip.  The camera on the iPhone 6 is 8 megapixels which is significantly better than the seven years ago when the first iPhone hit the shelves.  The iPhone 6 hit a preorder sales record with 4 million units in just 24 hours after going on sale.
